Metronome

WORDS
METRONOME
Sunshine blue.
Bright skies over.
Floating free on the wind with my lover.
Where we’ll go I don’t know...
It doesn’t really matter.
Where you Heart IS?
That’s your Home
On the road,
no destination,
only up in syncopation.
Free from time.
Lost in space.
All we have is this music that we make.
Sunshine blue and bright skies over.
Sunshine and bright skies.
Yeah.
Floating free on the wind with my lover.
Sunshine. Blue skies.
Where we’ll go I don’t know.
Oh baby, it doesn’t matter.
Blue skies.
I said sunshine and blue skies.
Where your Heart IS?
Oh, that’s your Home.
I said sunshine, oh Lord, and blue skies.
Sunshine. Blue skies.
We aren’t workin’ for The Man no more.
No we aren’t.
Yeah.
Damn, that’s good.
Props... Shout out to Spokane, Washington, ladies and gentlemen... That’s right!
Blue skies.
Floating free.
Oh, baby...
Do you see?
Meant to be...
It’s greater than you or me.
BACKSTORY
One evening Smithalicious and Mushroom Child set a metronome ticking at 417 Hz, tuned their guitars to match frequency, and then jammed along to that steady beat for hours without stopping. At some point Smithalicious switched over to his bass and they just kept right on going.
The sound was killer. It was the soundtrack of BECOMING. The Musica they made kept soaring aloft into perfectly synced tenderness, and then tumbling back down into totally strange, painful chaos, and then back up again in exquisite syncopation... Over and over and over.
I think that was the night I finally fully groked the power and immensity of the harmonic scales and properly registered why it is that these are in fact the frequencies that call forth explicate, ordered, material form out of the conscious, formless, gooey Love substrate of potentiality that is the Implicate Order.
No such thing as dissonance even when fingers slip on the strings. No such thing as perfection. Naught but change, expansion, shifting, learning... Constructed of Beauty and Pain.. LIFE.
Plus, the birds friggen dig this tune. Fer reals.
I learned not all that long ago that the Feathered Ones sing in the mornings because they're actually broadcasting harmonic frequencies out into the ether in order to modulate the atmosphere and set the energetics of Terra for the day. Pretty damn cool to say the least but then it got even cooler.
I haven’t been sleeping too much lately so I've been watching a lot of sunrises. One morning, I had Metronome blasting at dawn and when the Lighthouse’s resident flock of backyard birds woke up they started singing right along to it in perfect tone and tempo.
It was nigh unto the grooviest thang I have evah heard.
MAGIC.
